Adam Gilchrist one of the most prominent ex-cricketers of Australian Cricket Team visited Delhi University on Monday, 9th September. He visited the university with a group of Delegation from the University of Wollongong. The delegation came to strengthen the ties with the university. The Vice-Chancellor of the University Prof. Paul Wellings led the team of delegation on behalf of UOW.

The delegation held a talk with the Delhi University Academic council and proposed collaborations between DU and UOW in the sectors of Business Studies , Law , Science & Technology and other interest areas.

Adam Gilchrist addressed the Delhi University students who secured their admissions through sports quota and had played Cricket and other sports. He encouraged the students interested in sports to take the profession and practice religiously. Two of the universities ended the meeting with a mutual interest to increase collaborations between the two universities situated at different corners of the world.

Adam Gilchrist was the part of the Australian Team till 2010. At that time, the team used to be called the ‘Invincible Australian Team.’ In his career, he played in 96 Test matches and 127 One Day International (ODI) Matches. Honours like International Player of the Year, Wisden Cricketer of the Year and the Allan Border Medal are won by the former cricketer of Australian National Cricket Team. He made his international debut in 1992 and the year 1996 marked his debut in India with his first ODI. He was one of the most aggressive batsmen and wicket-keeper in the history of Australian Cricket.
