PUBG, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is one of the most popular online games nowadays. PUBG has made its official debut in IIT Roorkee annual sports festival. IIT Roorkee's Annual Sports Fest began on August 20, 2019, and the same will conclude on August 28, 2019. Students, as well as teachers, are very excited that PUBG is now a part of IIT Roorkee annual sports fest.
Radhika, a first-year MBA student said that she became a PUBG enthusiast after her brother introduced her to the game. She added that she is thrilled to know that PUBG is a part of the IIT Roorkee annual sports festival and she is sure that she would give a tough fight to other players.
DoMS head M K Baruah told that PUBG was introduced to keep up with the current trend and also to acknowledge the interests of students. He also said that since few years computer and mobile games like FIFA and Counter-Strike are an elementary part of the annual sports fest of IIT Roorkee.
He also added that PUBG helps them to cultivate skills like teamwork, shrewd judgment, multitasking, and focus which are important in today’s world.
IIT Roorkee annual fest, 'Exuberance' which is managed by the Department of Management Studies (DoMs) has both indoor like carom, foosball, chess, etc as well as outdoor fests like badminton, football, basketball, etc.
