Agra University Drop Out Rate High, Courtesy No Placement Cell
- Agra University campus placements are close to null following which the batch strength of courses such as B.Tech, B.Pharma, B.Com and B.Sc has declined.
- Agra University is planning to establish a placement cell to help the students find relevant job opportunities.
Agra Universitystudents are dropping outof the university due to the lack of placement opportunities since the past three years.
According to the reports, companies have stopped visiting the universitydue to the lack of infrastructureand a bad reputation with respect to its exam structure and results. Not many companies have visited the University in the last three years following which the batch strength in courses such as B.Tech, B.Pharma, B.Com and B.Sc has also declined.

The class strength of 60 students has been reduced to only 12 in the MBA batch of the 2017-18 academic session. The MBA course is offered at theSeth Padam Chand Jain Institute of Managementbut no company has visited the campus for the placement process.
The same scenario ofdeclining class strengthis seen at theDau Dayal Institute of Vocational Studies. The institute has an intake of 120 seats but only 52 seats were filled in. Apart from this, the varsity does not have aplacement cellwhich is one of the main reasons for the increasing number of dropouts.

The university is planning to start acentralized placement cellwith the purpose of making students job-ready. The main aim of the placement cell will be to conduct on and off campus interviews for its students and to offer them relevant career opportunities. It will also conduct workshops for students, organize industrial visits, seminars and conferences.
