AICTE Chairman Emphasizes On New Initiatives To Encourage Innovation
- AICTE Chairman addressed the audience at the 2nd Youth Conclave of IIT Kharagpur and stressed on the initiatives to encourage innovations.
Mr. Anil Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education emphasised on the new initiatives of Indian National Academy of Engineers (INAE) and AICTE to encourage innovation in India.
He addressed the audience at the 2nd Indian National Academy of Engineers YouthConclave at the IIT Kharagpur. AICTE has started new initiatives to improve the laboratory conditions in the higher education institutions and to make provision so that distinguished fellows can visit other centres.
Apart from this, research fellows will also be provided with a travel grant so that they could present their research papers at national and international conferences.

He also talked about Smart India Hackathon, the main purpose of which is to solve the challenging problems of different ministers and government departments. This will engage the young minds to create the largest open innovation model.
Also, many countries such as Singapore, Canada, South Korea and Australia have shown keen interest in participating in Smart India Hackathon. Such exercises spread awareness among students and help build their innovation skills.
Many students from across the country participated in the Youth Conclave and the final presentation took place between 11th and 12th August 2018. The School of Aeronautics, Neemrana won the top prize in Youth Conclave for Optimising Food Chain Aspects. The students designed a product to store farm produce. Future Institute of Engineering and Management won the 1st prize in the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Category.

The IIT Kharagpur won the first prize for Town Planning and it also won the top prize in two categories i.e. healthcare app development and digitisation of agriculture.
