Andhra Govt. Introduces Cloud-Based Initiative to Skill 60,000 Students

Andhra government has started a Cloud-based skill initiative in collaboration with Amazon Web Services. The collaboration will skill over 60,000 students across the state’s 300 technical and non-technical colleges by the year 2020.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Sambasiva Rao, CEO, Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation and Sunil PP, India Education Lead, Public Sector, Amazon Internet Services Private Ltd. to equip students with the required skills under the mission - Cloud for All-Knowledge and Skills Mission. APSSDC is in charge of building cloud computing technology skills across the state.

Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh said that the learning programme has reached out to many students in every district of the state to equip students with cloud computing skills. Since the demand for cloud employees is increasing, AWS is one such platform that helps build cloud professionals.

With the increasing demand for cloud employees, AWS Educate provides a unique academic gateway for the next generation of IT and cloud professionals.

Meanwhile, more than 200 faculty members were also trained in 80 engineering colleges of the state. This was a part of the faculty development initiative. By September over 13,000 students were a part of the AWS Educate programme. These students were from 130 non-technical colleges.

Rahul Sharma, President-Public Sector, Amazon Internet Services Private Limited said that equipping students with the right skills to help drive innovation and entrepreneurship within the state.
