Andhra Pradesh to Get Additional 35 PG Medical Seats from Next Academic Session
AP State to get an additional 35 Post Graduate medical seats from next academic year. The AP state government requested the Central government regarding the additional PG medical seats.
Andhra Pradesh will get 35 additional Post Graduate medical seats in government medical colleges in the State from the next academic session. According to the reports, the AP state government requested the Central government regarding the additional PG medical seats. The request was made on the basis Medical Council of India - MCI recommendations.
MCI went on inspections regarding the same to check the infrastructure and other facilities in the government medical colleges in Ongole, Anantapur and Srikakulam.

The council inspected the labs, hostel, libraries, seminar halls and the college infrastructure for additional seats. The Srikakulam Government Medical College in AP will get 11 PG seats from the next academic session, Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences at Ongole will get 8 PG seats and Anantapur Medical College is likely to get 16 additional seats
The Medical Council of India informed the AP Director of Medical Education- Dr. K Babji that once the hospital gets additional PG medical seats, it will be able to provide patients with better medical services.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu will focus more on improving infrastructure in the government hospitals to provide better medical services to poor patients.
Outpatients in government hospitals are increasing at a great pace in the span four years. Taking this into consideration, the government decided to fill the vacant seats doctor posts which led to additional PG Medical seats.
