Appearance in NEET 2017 will be Considered as First Attempt, Clarifies CBSE
The notification for NEET-UG 2017 for the admission to BDS/MBBS course was released on January 31, 2017, and the online application process commenced on the same day.
It is a sigh of relief to the candidates who took AIPMT/NEET before 2017 as Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE clarified that the candidates who appear for NEET-2017 would be considered as their first attempt and the previous attempts will not be counted. On January 31, 2017, CBSE issued NEET-UG 2017 notification which indicated that candidates who took AIPMT thrice are not eligible for NEET-UG 2017. However, changes have been made in the notification issued by CBSE.

Earlier, some of the candidates who read the notification were shocked as NEET-UG 2017 was not applicable for the candidates who took AIPMT thrice. However, Department of Health and Family Welfare sought the clarification regarding the same from Medical Council of India (MCI).

The notification for NEET-UG 2017 for the admission to BDS/MBBS course was released on January 31, 2017, and the online application process commenced on the same day. The examination is scheduled to take place on May 7, 2017. This year, NEET will be conducted in ten languages, and there may be chances for the inclusion of Urdu. The Islamic Students Organization (ISO) had approached Supreme Court last week regarding the inclusion of Urdu in NEET.
On the other hand, Pondicherry government had urged the Centre to exclude the state from NEET. Similarly, the State Assembly of Tamil Nadu passed legislation to exclude students from Tamil Nadu to take NEET.
