Ashoka University Collaborates with HEC Paris for Academics Development & Research

HEC Paris, a France-based business school has collaborated with Ashoka University to promote cooperation on research, academics and development. The agreement was signed on March 22, 2017. Through this collaboration, both the institutes will focus on social business exchange programme and entrepreneurship initially. For this purpose, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between two institutes in the presence of Mr. Alexander Ziegler, French Ambassador.

Mr. Alexander Ziegler revealed that HEC made collaborations and has tied-up with several universities across India. he also added that are happy to collaborate with Ashoka University. The collaboration is an investment on what the new landscape of higher education will look like in India.

He further indicated that the plan of HEC is to have a high number of Indian students and their target is to attract 10,000 students by 2020. Initially, the exchange programme will start with three students from each side a year and the number of students will increase in the years to come.

The collaboration will also facilitate faculty exchange programme and the main subject will be Social Entrepreneurship and Social Business.

Vinnet Gupta, Founder and Pro-Vice Chancellor of Ashoka University expressed that the partnership will help the varsity to expand its global outreach in the areas of research and academic excellence.

The government of France announced that their main target is to attract Indian students and achieve the target of 10,000 Indian students by 2020. For this purpose, the representatives from various renowned varsities and institutes visited India to make students aware of various scholarship opportunities, courses and institutes in France.
