Bihar to Get 5 out of 25 New Medical Colleges in Country
- Finance Minister contained a proposal for coming up with 25 medical colleges across the country
- A sum of Rs. 250 crore will be sanctioned by the Centre for the establishment of each institution.
The centre has agreed for setting up 25new medical collegesacross the country, out of which 5 of them are proposed in Bihar, Ashwini Kumar ChoubeyUnion Minister of State for Healthinformed on Wednesday.
As per the reports, Choubey informed that budget presented by Arjun Jaitley,Finance Ministercontained a proposal for coming up with 25medical collegesacross the country and a sum of Rs. 250 crore will be sanctioned by the Centre for the establishment of each institution. Choubey also represents Buxar in the Lok Sabha.

It is divided intofive zoneseach of it comprising 3 parliamentary constituencies, where one medical college each will be set up. The five zones are Buxar-Ara- Pataliputra, Samstipur-Supaul-Araria, Jamui-Munger-Banka, Vaishali-Gopalganj-Siwan, and Sheohar-Sitamarhi-Madhubani.
He also mentioned that thestate governmenthas ordered them to make the land available within a month for the establishment of acancer research centreat Muzaffarpur. The foundation stone for the cancer research centre is likely to be laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.

The estimated cost of the 125-bed cancer research centre will be Rs.200 crore and will be helped byBhabha Atomic Research Institute. They are also planning to set updiagnostic centresin all 38 districts of Bihar so that cancer could be detected in the earlier stages and will prevent the loss of lives.
