B.Tech Fees in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana Engineering Colleges to Increase
B.Tech fee in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will be increased for the academic session 2019-20. The new fee structure of B.Tech in AP and Telangana will continue until 2022.
Engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will increase B.Tech fees for the block period of 2019-22. Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC) of AP and Telangana has invited proposals from private engineering colleges for increasing B.Tech fees this year. As per the proposals received by the colleges, AFRC will give the approval to increase fee structure for B.Tech course. The fee structure for B.Tech course will be increased on the basis of demand for B.Tech course in respective engineering colleges.
The fee structure for B.Tech course in Telangana and AP engineering colleges increases every three years. In 2016, AFRC approved the B.Tech fee structure for the block period of 2016-19. Therefore, the fee structure for B.Tech course has to be increased this year. The revenue and expenditure of the colleges are considered for granting approval for new fee structure.
AP and Telangana Engineering Colleges B.Tech Expected Fee Hike 2019-22
B.Tech fee in local colleges across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is expected to be increased up to Rs. 60,000 per annum. On the other hand, B.Tech fee in top engineering colleges is expected to increase up to Rs. 1,50,000 – Rs. 2,00,000 per annum. In 2016, the B.Tech fee in top engineering colleges was Rs. 1,15,000.

Reasons for Higher Fee for B.Tech Courses in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from 2019
As per the new norms of AICTE, the colleges must revise the salaries of faculty, accumulate new facilities, create new infrastructure and other additional expenses. The existing fee structure is no way enough for these colleges to comply with AICTE norms. Therefore, these colleges have been demanding AFRC to raise the fee structure for B.Tech course.

AFRC will soon take a decision on the new fee structure for B.Tech course for the block period of 2019-22.
