Even though the Central Board of Secondary Education suggests NCERT (National Council of Education Research and Training) books in the 9th to 12th standard, the board has made it clear that the Board Examinations will be held as per the CBSE syllabus and not as per the NCERT Prescribed Syllabus. With this announcement, the board has also released a syllabus that will form the foundation of questions in the 10th and 12th board examinations of 2020.

CBSE Circular for Board Exam Syllabus 2020

In a recent notice issued by the CBSE, they have said that the board will not conduct examinations entirely on NCERT syllabus. However, the syllabus released by CBSE has many similarities with minor changes from the NCERT prescribed syllabus.

CBSE in the notice has said that in the NCERT Books, some portions of lessons and questions have mentioned note that they are not for the examination syllabus. However, CBSSE has also included those portions in their syllabus and said that these notifications given in the books will be invalid as the board exams will include all the portions.

The notifications clearly mentioned that the board examinations will follow the CBSE syllabus, not the syllabus given by NCERT in their books. The board has uploaded the syllabus on its official website for students, parents, and teachers.

The board will now conduct mathematics examination for class 10 in two parts namely, Mathematics Standard and Mathematics Basic. Meanwhile, the board has opened the link for the corrections in the application forms of class 10th and 12th.
