CBSE Asks UGC to Conduct NET 2017 Examination
The Central Board of Secondary Education wants to work on its core areas and improve the quality of education.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked the University Grants Commission (UGC) to conduct National Eligibility Test (NET) 2017 examination which is going to take place in the month of January. The board wants to work on its core areas and improve the quality of education.

Recently, Chairperson of CBSC, Chaturvedi has written to UGC that the board cannot conduct all the examinations as it is creating a burden on them. He also mentioned that most of the examinations which are being carried out by CBSE are out of its area of expertise. He further added that conducting exams for various bodies is stretching its resources. However, the board indicated that it would provide technical support for NET 2017 exam.

The officials of HRD Ministry were of the opinion that the CBSE has expressed its views as it has been holding examinations ranging from the entrance to UG courses to recruitments for institutions like UGC-NET and Kendriya Vidyalayas.
