CBSE to Set Up Metal Detectors at JEE Main Exam Centres
- CBSE has implemented stringent rules to ensure the free and fair conduct of JEE Main 2018.
- Metal detectors will be set up in all the exam centres to regulate candidates from carrying electronic devices.
TheCentral Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)has confirmed that it would set up metal detectors atJEE Main 2018exam centres. The national-level engineering entrance exam is scheduled to be conducted on April 08, 2018. The rule to set up metal detectors has been rolled out for the first time to make sure that the entrance exam will be conducted in a rigid and fair manner.

The examiners should not carry any sort ofelectronic devicesinto the examination hall. The metal detectors will be set up to screen the candidates whether they are carrying electronic devices or not. Earlier, there were instances of cheating inJEE Main exam. A few candidates were found carryingBluetooth-enable devicesto stay connected with people outside the exam centres and seek answers to questions.
CBSEclarified that the candidates must refrain themselves from carrying calculators, electronic watch and mobile phones into the exam hall. For entry into the examination hall, the examinees will have to produceJEE Main admit cardand any Proof of Identity like Aadhaar card/ passport.
This year, over 1.3 lakh candidates are expected to appear for JEE Mains examination.
