Delhi Government Comes With New Mohalla Libraries in Karawal Nagar
Karawal Nagar in New Delhi get eight new libraries as proposed by the Mohalla Sabhas.
For the residents of Karawal Nagar in New Delhi, it was a great moment to rejoice as eight libraries proposed by the Mohalla Sabhas were inaugurated in the area in the presence of lots of local residents, MLA of the area and the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia.

While inaugurating the libraries, Deputy Cheif Minister of Delhi said that his government is committed to the development of people not only from a material point of view, but also from an intellectual point of view. It should be noted here that the current AAP Government had made this promise at the time of campaigning.
Karwal Nagar MLA Kapil Mishra, who is also in charge of the Tourism Department of Delhi said that the library and the senior citizen centres have been constructed utilising fund sanctioned for the Mohalla Sabha.
The Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi in a move to bring more people to governance planned the Mohalla Sabhas in eleven constituencies of the Delhi as a pilot project.

Delhi Government has allocated Rs. 350 crore to Rs. 20 crore for each constituency in the budget of 2015-16. Speaking at the occasion, Mishra said the work in Karwal Nagar shows that if people are allowed to decide on the development work, anything can be done easily. The State Government is drawing up a detailed plan for the entire city. But the plan is yet to be approved by Lieutenant Governor.
In 2015, the Mohalla Sabha were convened in several places of Delhi like New Delhi, Patparganj, Shahdara, Kirari, Okhla, Bawana, Karawal Nagar, Tilak Nagar, Sadar Bazaar, Dwarka, and Chhatarpur.
