The HRD Minister of India, Prakash Javadekar, introduced ‘Operation Digital Board’ on Wednesday, 20th February 2019. The aim of the digital boards for schools is to provide each classroom in government schools with one digital and interactive board and make the availability of e-resources to students accessible at all times. A number of about 1.5 lakh schools are expected to benefit from this scheme from the session of 2019 onwards.

While talking about the Operation Digital Board at a press conference in the capital, New Delhi, Prakash Javadekar expressed that the primary focus of this scheme is to upgrade the traditional methods of teaching. With the advent of technology, it is necessary to be at par with the new ways and digital lifestyle so as to not be left behind.
