Facebook Launches Online Education Programme in Computer Programming
Facebook has launched a computer-programming course. The course is divided into three modules and is offered free of cost.
Facebook has launched a free online education programme, i.e., CodeFWD with an aim to increase the female and underrepresented students in pursuing computer programming. Education Partnerships Director at Facebook, Lauryn Ogbechie revealed that Facebook is working on numerous initiatives to widen the platform of diverse talent studying computer science. With such initiatives, the next generation innovators incorporate and reflect diverse perspectives, building a future that benefits everyone, he added.
Facebook created CodeFWD in collaboration with Sphero – a popular connected toys maker. The programme is designed for both English as well as Spanish speakers. It is a three-step programme where organizations and educators introduce computer programming from 4th to 8th-grade students.

About Facebook CodeFWD Online Education Programme
Facebook CodeFWD online education programme is divided into three modules. The details reading the same are elaborated below -
The first module of CodeFWD programme is “I Do”. As a part of the first module, educators will introduce the basics of computer programming to the students. One of the most interesting parts of the training programme is that the educators may be discovering the concepts themselves.
The second module of CodeFWD programme is “We Do”. As a part of the second module, educators and students learn together the concepts of computer programming.
The third module of the CodeFWD programme is “You Do”. The third module will help students practice new skills. The training programme completes with the third module.

After the completion of three modules, it is the responsibility of the educators to develop coding skills of the students using a tangible, hands-on-product. These skills can be applied to earn a free classroom set of programmable robots for Facebook partners at Sphero.
