First Ever Campus Run in IIT Bombay

The e-cell,IIT Bombaywould be hosting its first ever campus run on the morning of March 6, 2016. The gates of IIT Bombay would be opened to everyone to register and take part in the campus run called the ‘IIT Bombay Run’.

This ‘IIT Bombay Run’ is being organized by the entrepreneurship cell of IIT Bombay and the students, alumni along with the industry leaders and fitness enthusiasts are expected to take part in it.

It would be an opportunity of a lifetime for the fitness enthusiasts to run around the picturesque IIT Bombay that is spread across 550 acres and is nestled between the two lakes of Powai and Vihar.

The registration for the run can be done on their website iitbombayrun.com or ecell.in/iitbrun in any category from 4 km walk, 11 km lake run, or 21 km half marathon depending upon the fitness levels. Anybody can participate in it and registration is a must.

The aim of the event is to promote and publicize the spirit of entrepreneurship in this premier institute of the country. It would also provide a platform for all stakeholders such as the students, alumni, industry leaders to come together network and connect. Above all it would provide the alumni of the institute to come together and meet their batch mates, faculty and seniors and also to revisit their times as students. The proceeds of the event would go towards the improvement of the facilities at the campus and also towards various initiatives for new students at the IIT Bombay campus.

A super-enthusiastic e-cell team comprised of students of IIT Bombay who conceptualize and organize E-Summit at IIT Bombay every year, are driving this initiative with the help from mentors familiar with the logistics and process of organizing such runs,” said Prof Soumyo Mukherji, Dean Students Affairs, IIT Bombay.
