GATE 2020 Trends - This year, GATE 2020 cutoffs for various papers might have surprised everyone. While the cutoffs for most of the specialized papers witnessed a dip, the same for traditional engineering branches increased this. This clearly indicates that the demand for traditional engineering courses at M.Tech level in India is high. Even though the total number of registrations for the GATE exam declined this year, the number of registrations for traditional engineering courses witnessed a rise.

Traditional M.Tech Branches with Higher GATE Cutoff 2020

Here is the list of traditional M.Tech branches for which the GATE 2020 cutoffs are higher -

Specialized M.Tech Branches with Lower GATE Cutoff 2020

Here is the list of specialized M.Tech branches with a lower cutoff in GATE 2020 -

The qualifying marks for GATE Aerospace Engineering was 33.5 in 2018, while the same dipped to 27.2 this year. Similarly, the cutoff of Agriculture Engineering also dipped this year. The higher cutoff for a paper indicates that either the paper was easy or the number of candidates appeared for the same are high. While the lower cutoff indicates that either the paper was tough or the number of candidates appeared for the same are less.
