Haryana Govt in Association With NSIC Establishes Skilling Centre in Faridabad

Haryana Technical Education Department and NSIC on Tuesday, 23 November 2016 signed a MoU to set up a technology centre at Neemka in the district of Faridabad.

To enhance the skills of youths of the state, Haryana Technical Education Department in association with National Small Industries Corporation (NSIC) on Tuesday, 23 November 2016 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up a technology centre at Neemka in the district of Faridabad.

The MoU was signed by Ravindra Nath, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of NSIC and Anil Malik, Principal Secretary, Haryana Technical Education Department in the presence of K K Jalan, Secretary, Union MSME and D S Dhesi, Chief Secretary of Haryana.

While giving the information, Jalan said that the operation of the centre at Neemka would be able to commence by April, next year that is in 2017. Already 18 such centres are functioning in different parts of the country and another 15 new centres are being set up. Every year 2,000-5,000 candidates are receiving training in these centres. Out of these candidates, around 98 percent of the trainees get regular employment.

D S Dhesi in his speech described it as a very significant day for MSME sector of Haryana. He also said that an approval was also given on Tuesday, 23rd November 2016 for setting up of Project Management Unit (PMU) in Directorate of Industries as to promote industries in the state. Further, he said that the construction work of the technology centre at Rohtak district was in progress and very soon it would be completed.

Ravindra Nath from NSIC said that Andhra Pradesh Government has also approached them for setting up such centres in the state. Expressing his hope for industrial development in the state Anil Malik, Principal Secretary, Haryana Technical Education Department said the new centre would help in giving a boost to industrial development in National Capital Region, particularly in Faridabad area.

Malik further said that in the first year, about 2,000 students would be trained at the centre and this strength would rise with time. The new centre will be the eighth centre to be established in association with NSIC in the country. Another such centre would also be set up under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode in Gurugram.
