The engineering colleges must play a significant role in giving preference to skill development. Industries are looking for skilled workers. He further added that teaching material should be updated accordingly for this purpose.
Head of APSSDC Learning and Development Dr. T. Sai Lakshmi indicated that APSSDC has managed to establish 101 skill development centres in 101 engineering colleges. There are around 350 engineering colleges in the state, and these colleges must cooperate with APSSDC in setting up these centres. Today, most of the youth lack skills and fail in interviews. Hence, it is time for these colleges to make the students' industry fit.
She further added that skill development programmes would be inculcated online to students from the first year of engineering course.
