The Government of Haryana is speculating over providing provisional admissions to students in its ITIs in case the lockdown is extended beyond 03rd May 2020 and as a result, the mandatory science entrance examination for ITI admissions is delayed. The announcement was made by the Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar. He also addressed the students to follow the 3S mantra - study at home, school at home and stay at home to combat the ongoing Coronavirus crisis.

According to the CM of Haryana, every year almost 60 to 70 thousand students apply for admission into the 246 private and 172 government ITIs in the state. The classes in these ITIs usually begin in the month of August every year. As of now, all the ITIs are closed in the state and while the theoretical part is taken care of through the online methods, the practical part will be taken care of once the lockdown ends.

The school examinations in the state were postponed on 18th March 2020 followed by closing down of the schools on the following date. The state government had already decided that the students from class Ist and XIth will be promoted to the next class on the basis of examination which took place till March 18, 2020.
