HP Govt. Summons Authorities of a Private Medical College for Talks on Hike in Admission Fees & Denying Admission
Parents and students seeking admission to medical college in HP have approached the Himachal Pradesh Education Institutions Regulatory Commission to intervene the discrepancy in fees for MBBS courses.
The government of Himachal Pradesh has called the representatives of a private medical college for talks as it denied admission to 150 students under the government quota and demanded fee hike. The parents and the students met Secretary (Health), VC Pharka and explained the situation to him. He took the issue into consideration, and the representatives of the college have been called for talks on September 15, 2016.

The college has been charging Rs. 5,00,000 per annum under government quota. The other three government medical colleges in the state are charging only Rs. 50,000. Parents and students questioned college's motive for such an exorbitant hike in fee. However, the government clarified that no changes would be made in the fee structure as the admission process is almost over.

The parents and students are left in a lurch and thus have approached the Himachal Pradesh Education Institutions Regulatory Commission to sort the issue with immediate intervention.
