IIM Visakhapatnam Celebrates Third Foundation Day

The third foundation day celebrations of Indian Institute of Management, Visakhapatnam was inaugurated on January 17, 2017. Hitesh Oberoi, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Info Edge Limited (India) inaugurated the celebrations and addressed the students.

On this occasion, he encouraged the students to inculcate a passion for a striving career. He even explained his own life experiences and the challenges faced by him during his journey in IIT and IIM.

He further indicated that talent does not merely lead to success and it has to be backed by sincere efforts, dedication and passion towards the career goals. He enlightened the students with the number of opportunities in the global scenario for management graduates and advised them to utilize these to the maximum potential leaving not a single one unattempted. He also stated that it is advisable to the management graduates to start their career in entrepreneurship. With the push available in the entrepreneurial ecosystem of the country, opportunities to excel are plenty. Therefore, students can also aspire to become successful entrepreneurs.

Mentor Director of IIM-Vishakhapatnam, Prof. R. Srinivasan highlighted the achievements of the institute during the last year. Prizes were also distributed to the students and staff who took part in various competitions in 2016. On this occasion, saplings were also planted on the campus by the Mentor Director and students. Srinivasan expressed that there is a need to take extensive plantation drives to protect the environment and IIM-Visakhapatnam always give top priority to it.
