IIT-Gandhinagar Signs MoU with Tata Motors and IIT Bombay Alumni Association
A total number of five students will be selected and provide funding from this MoU.
Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagarhas signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Motors Ltd. (TML) and the IIT Bombay Alumni Association (IITBAA) to help undergraduate students financially at IIT-Gandhinagar. TML will provide funding for tuition as well as other payments and fees for four years. A total number of five students will be selected and be provided funding as per this MoU.

The students who will be benefitted under this scheme have to donate the money back to the institution when they are financially independent. IIT-Gandhinagar will use that money to fund five more UG students. IITBAA has played a crucial role in bringing about the partnership between TML and IIT-Gandhinagar.
Vinod Kulkarni, CSR head at TML mentioned that they are privileged to collaborate with IIT-Gandhinagar and Tata’s Group is continuing its tradition of supporting educational institutes of excellence and students coming from deserving backgrounds. He also revealed the Financial Aid Programme (FAP) initiated by TML atIIT-Bombaybecame a huge success. So far, the FAP has supported over 600 students financially.
Prof. Sudheer Jain, Director of IIT-Gandhinagar, pointed that most of the students joining in the institute come from lower income families and these students need a scholarship and educational aids. Through this scheme, students can complete their studies without any financial worries.
