IIT Gandhinagar to Host Sustainability Fair on March 29

Dr. Kiran Patel Centre for Sustainable Development at IIT Gandhinagar will be organizing its first annual Sustainability Fair on March 29, 2019. Dr. VB Mathur, Director, Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun along with Prof. Amit Garg, IIM Ahmedabad will present the keynote addresses during the inaugural session in the morning between 9:30-10:30 am. This fair will look at promoting unique and fruitful collaborations between IITGN faculty and organisations, and industries in sustainable development.

The Fair will have literature exhibitions and demonstrations on the ongoing sustainable development practices, water quality, climate change, topics such as waste management etc. This fair will also include sessions on water, climate change, energy, ecosystems, and they will highlight the best sustainable development practices and projects, and facilitate in the knowledge transfer and academia-industry partnerships. Policy makers and leaders belonging to the field of sustainable development will take part in this and share their thought process during the sessions.

IIT Gandhinagar offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses and is known for its excellence in technology, science, humanities, and social sciences. It was founded in 2008 and is situated in Palaj, Gandhinagar on the banks of Sabarmati. It is in close proximity to Ahmedabad.

The institute offers B.Tech and M.Tech in various disciplines such as civil, chemical, engineering, electrical, mechanical and materials science. Ph.D. programmes are also offered in the engineering and science departments such as biomedical, electrical, mechanical, chemical etc. Programmes in literature, psychology, and political sciences are also available.
