IIM Ahmedabad PG Admission Process 2025

IIM Ahmedabad PG Admission goes through various processes, starting from the application process to seat allotment. The step-by-step process of PG admission for IIM Ahmedabad is given below:

Step 1: Preliminary Screening

Candidates who have appeared for CAT and applied to IIMA will undergo preliminary shortlisting. Only those who achieve minimum sectional and overall percentile cut-offs in CAT and obtain a positive score in all sections (QA, DILR, VARC) will be considered.

Step 2: Application Rating (AR) Score

At various stages, IIMA uses the Application Rating (AR) Score to evaluate candidates. The AR score includes:

• A: 10th Standard Marks
• B: 12th Standard Marks (stream-specific evaluation: Science, Commerce, Arts/Humanities)
• C: Bachelor’s Degree Marks (discipline-specific categories AC-1 to AC-6)
• D: Work Experience (as of July 31 of current year)
• E: Gender Diversity (0 for males, 3 for all others)

The AR score = A + B + C + D + E. This is then normalized against the top 50 applicants’ AR scores in the pool.

Step 3: Shortlisting for AWT & PI

Shortlisting is conducted in two stages:

Stage 1: Exceptional Performers by Academic Discipline

• Candidates are grouped by academic category (AC-1 to AC-6).

Shortlisted candidates appear for AWT and PI at one of six centers: Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, New Delhi.
