Only 47.38% Indian Graduates Employable: India Skills Report 2019
India Skills Report 2019 has been released that details out the management, engineering and pharmacy graduate employability. Engineering domain topped with 57.90% employability while the employability rate of MBA and B.Pharma courses is rather sad.
As per India Skills Report 2019, only 47.38% of graduates in India are employable. As far as disciplines are concerned, engineering graduates topped the list with 57.90% employment rate. On the other hand, the scenario of MBA graduates is rather sad, as the hiring process of MBA graduates has been witnessing a decline since 2014. The latest Skills Report reveals that there are only 36.44% skilled MBA graduates in India.
Detailing more on the engineering hiring trend in India, India Skills Report indicated that six out of 10 engineering graduates in India are able to secure employment. Compared to the previous year, engineering hiring in India has improved by 14%. Contrastingly, the MBA placements in India have dropped by 3% this year.

India Skills Report pointed out that an increasing number of MBA colleges is the major reason for the decline in MBA placements in India. Due to the huge number of colleges, the quality of management education has become a challenging question. It is time for the government to take necessary measures for improving the quality of management education, stated the report.
Apart from MBA, the B.Pharma placements witnessed a marginal drop this year. Only 36.29% of B.Pharma graduates were able to secure employment this year. The B.Pharma placement percentage in India has declined by 12% this year.
As far as states are concerned, Andhra Pradesh topped the India Skills Report 2019 with outstanding employment opportunities. Rajasthan and Haryana bagged the second and third spots for the same while states like Punjab, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh did not feature in top 10.

There is a drastic need for improving the quality of management and pharma education in the country. The current employability rate of these courses is not up to the mark and an improvement is highly essential in the coming years.
