Jamia Milla Islamia & UNICEF Venture on Raising Child Health Issues Awareness
Jamia Milla Islamia and UNICEF to work together on spreading awareness regarding child health issues in the country. JMI’s Mass Communication Research Centre is planning to conduct workshops addressing issues like Breastfeeding, Diarrhoeam Nutrition & Pneumonia.
Jamia Millia Islamia and UNICEF join hands to work together in spreading awareness regarding Child Health Issues in our country. AJK Mass Communication Research Centre of JMI is to conduct a workshop on Diarrhoea, Anaemia, Pneumonia, Nutrition and Breastfeeding. It will be a one-day long workshop attended by experts from multiple fields.
The aim of JMI’s workshop is to highlight the issues faced in the area of Child Health. Experts will be bursting some myths related to Anaemia, Diarrhoea and Pneumonia. Field Experts will be clarifying doubts of masses by providing correct information on the matter.
Poor understanding of people in the matter of child Heath issues has made Anaemia, Diarrhoea and Pneumonia killer diseases in the country. Use of traditional practices to cure these diseases is worsening the condition of health in India. Socio-cultural practices and Supernatural belives of people are major challenges faced by experts while dealing with Child Health Issues in India.

About 40 RJs and Programming Experts from leading radio stations are going to attend the workshop. All India Radio along with community Radio Stations from Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Assam and Bihar is going to be a part of the event. Private FMs form all over India is most likely to be found at the workshop conducted by JMI. Experts from different Universities and NGOs are also going to participate in the workshop, some of them are as follows:

- Academia form IGNOU
- Academia from Delhi University - Department of Anthropology
- Ministry of Health & Family Welfare Officials
- Ministry of Women & Child Development Officials
- UNICEF Officials
- Representatives from Save the Children
- Experts from YP Foundation
- Personnel from Clinton Health Access Initiative

In a similar pattern, JMI will be conducting workshops in future with other universities or civil societies to promote research and developments on the topics related to child health issues.
