Jamia Online Placement Drive 2020: Interactive Sessions to Prepare Students for Virtual Recruitment
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has recently launched its Online Placement Drive 2020. It is a step taken by the university to facilitate placements for its graduating students.
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has launched its Online Placement Drive 2020 recently. The objective of this drive is to facilitate placements to all the graduating students of Jamia. The JMI University Placement Cell (UPC) had organised an online interactive session on May 13, 2020 as a part of this online placement drive. The session was on 'Getting ready for Virtual Interviews' and it was aimed at preparing students so that they ace placement interviews virtually. Sanjay Baxla, the Ex Senior Vice President, HR of DLF Ltd. was the expert speaker of the interactive session.
In the session, Mr. Baxla talked about today’s job market and its requirements. He also explained to the students about the communication skills that are needed and gave anthem tips on how to face the interview online in order to be selected. The students asked various questions about facing interviews online and Sanjay Baxla solved their queries. A large number of students had registered for the interactive session but because of an unfortunate technical glitch, only about 100 students could participate.

JMI UPC had also organised a webinar on "Cracking Online Job Interviews and Techniques for Group Discussion" on May 10, 2020. The Director of Learning Solutions, Schneider Electric India, French Multinational Company, Ahmed Sabih Kidwai, was the keynote speaker of this webinar. Over a hundred students and teacher placement coordinators from several departments had attended this webinar.

Ahmed Sabih Kidwai is a seasoned professional and has also led human resources (HR) functions for numerous multinational companies and organisations in the country. The session was opened by him talking about some proven techniques of understanding interviews, communication skills, and gravitas. Mr. Sabih also explained the nuances of online interview skills to all the participants through a clear and articulate presentation. The webinar also had an interactive question and answer session where My Kidwai resolved the queries of the students.
