JMI Hosts Chinese Culture and Language Workshop

On July 29, Jamia Millia Islamia, Academy of International Studies (AIS) in collaboration with Confucius Mencius Culture and Education Foundation which is based in China conducted a workshop on Chinese Culture and Language. The JMI workshop was a part of UGC China Studies Programme.

The Chinese culture and language workshop that was conducted by AIS, Jamia Millia Islamia offered all kinds of details related to Chinese culture and language. The main focus of the Chinese culture and language workshop was on the points given below-

• Living in Chinese Culture

• Myths of Chinese Culture

• Learning of Chinese Culture and Chinese games

• Stories and Tales in Chinese Culture

The number of students participating in the Chinese culture and language workshop organized by AIS was over 40. Students from Jamia Millia Islamia and the University of Delhi participated in the workshop. The lecturers for the workshop were Chen, Lu, Yi-An, Li, Hsin-Yi, Yen – Hsin. There were also volunteer lecturers - Hong-Tze, Zheng who interacted with the students the whole day. The workshop was more of an interactive and learning session. At the end of the workshop, all the students who participated in the workshop received the certificates.

Jamia Millia Islamia was originally located at Aligarh and was established in the year 1920. The Urdu word ‘Jamia’ means ‘University’ and the ‘Millia’ means ‘National’. Jamia Millia Islamia offers a lot of international programs and arranges many workshops for students to get good exposure and experience.
