The Ministry of Human Resource Development has requested the companies not to withdraw job offers that were made in campus placements of various colleges and universities across the country. Recently, a leading company had withdrawn offers to 17 students across IITs and IIM, according to The Indian Express. HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ''Nishank'' has also directed all the IITs and IIMs to conduct special placement drives for students whose job offers were revoked due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

HRD Ministry indicated that the government is doing its best to make sure that the economy must not be impacted due to the COVID-19 outbreak. On the other hand, companies withdrawing job offers made to students will make them depressed and worry about the future. Therefore, the ministry appealed the companies not to withdraw the job offers.

Recently, the HRD Ministry urged IITs to set up a task force so that placements are conducted on time. On the other hand, a special drive must be conducted in July or August for students whose placement offers have been withdrawn by various companies. A public appeal has also been made by IIT Delhi Director to companies with regard to placements.
