Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) to Open New Branches in Bangladesh

Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) is all set to open two new branches in Bangladesh. As a preliminary step for the same, the foundation stone ceremony (bhumi pujan) for the new campuses was held at Dhaka and Jessore on 11th January 2018.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT and KISS; Sabur Khan, Founder, Daffodil University of Dhaka and Angela Goam, Founder, Banchte Shekha, a leading NGO of Bangladesh were present on both these occasions.

The Dhaka Branch of KISS will be opened in association with the Daffodil University while KISS ‘Banchte Shekha’ in Jessore is being set up with the help of an NGO named ‘Banchte Shekha’.

Daffodil University has provided land and fund for Infrastructure development for Dhaka branch. ‘Banchte Shekha’ has provided land and funds for its Jessore branch. KISS is providing technical and managerial support to both these branches. Both these branches of KISS will be fully residential and free of cost and will begin its operations from the coming academic session.

500 poorest of the poor Bangladesh children will be provided free education in the Dhaka Branch. On the other hand, the Jessore's KISS branch will enable education for poor girl children.

With this, KISS has ventured internationally by opening campuses outside of the Indian boundaries.

Daffodil University and ‘Banchte Shekha’ had Signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KISS to open these two branches. Expressing his pleasure over this development, Dr. Samanta said, an organization of Odisha, ‘KALINGA’ has been placed in international level which in itself is a pride for the state.

The institute's working and goal-oriented model has also received appreciation from all over the world and has been termed as a successful model fo the eradication of poverty through education and empowerment of underprivileged.
