18 Karnataka Colleges to Mentor NAAC Aspirants
18 Institutes from Karnataka has been selected as an Instructor Institute to train underperforming colleges in the state under Paramarsh Initiative of UGC. Out of 18, 6 colleges are selected from Bengaluru City itself.
TheUniversity Grants Commission (UGC)recently launched ‘Paramarsh’ scheme under which, the colleges which have good NAAC Rankings will mentor the NAAC aspirants. Currently, for the quality up-gradation process, 18Colleges and Institutes from Karnatakahave been selected as mentors.
In this process, most of the colleges that are chosen belong from the capital city of Bengaluru. Most of theColleges in Bengaluruhave a good reputation in terms of academic. So, no wonder that most of the colleges that are selected as Mentors in Karnataka are from Bengaluru.
The colleges selected as Bengaluru as mentor Institutes are,Government Science College,BMS College for Women, St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, St. Joseph’s College,Mount Carmel College, andIndian Academy Degree College.
Other colleges selected from different districts of Karnataka as mentor institutes includeJ.G. College of Commerce, Hubli;Sri Venkataramanaswamy College, Bantwal; Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheswara College, Hubli;St. Agnes College, Mangalore;Kottureshwar College, Kottur;St. Aloysius College, Mangalore;Basaveshwar Engineering College, Bagalkot; Bldea Commerce BHS Arts & TGP Science College, Jamakhandi andJ.S.S. College for Women, Mysore.

This will help the colleges and institutes aspiring for NAAC accreditation to work on their weak areas such as infrastructure, curriculum, quality education. This initiative will also improve the overall quality of education in the state. The mentorship from these institutes will also help them to find the weak areas and improve the same.
