Mission Bhagiratha Launched by PM in Telangana

Mission Bhagiratha was launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on August 7, 2016, at Komatibanda Village, in the Medak District, Telangana. The state government has launched the scheme with the motive to provide hygienic and safe drinking water to the residents of the region.

Foundation stone for major development projects was also laid by the PM. Plaques for projects like NTPC’s 1600 MW Thermal Power station at Ramagundam; Fertilizer Plant at Ramagundam that needs to be revived; Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal; as well as Manoharabad-Kothapalli Railway line were unveiled by the PM. The 1200 MW Thermal Power Station of Singareni Collieries at Jaipur, Adilabad district was also introduced by the PM as a service to the nation.

Addressing the gathering at the event, the Prime Minister appreciated the State Government for the steps taken over the last two years to meet the expectations of the people. The PM also talked about the prominence of cooperative federalism and its role in the development of the nation and said that the Centre and States are working in collaboration to move towards development.

The Prime Minister praised the initiatives taken by the State Government and said that the State Chief Minister, Shri K. Chandrasekar Rao has always ever worked to lead his state towards development and has always addressed the water related issues in his meetings with the PMO.

Taking about the foundation stone being laid for the new railway line, Shri Narendra Modi added that a lot of people will benefit from it and their demands will be fulfilled. Talking about development and reforms he said that railways have an essential role in a nation’s progress. He also said that the revival of the fertilizer plant will prove to be useful for the farmers of the state.

The Prime Minister also informed the people about the fake cow vigilantes and asked them to be careful. He also asked the State Governments to take necessary actions to bring them to justice.
