MNREGA Worker's Son Cracks JEE Main, First in Rajasthan Village

MNREGA worker’s son, Lekhraj Bheel becomes the first student to crack JEE Mains from his tribal village in Rajasthan. Lekhraj’s parents are MNREGA labourers in the Jhalawar's Mogayabeeh Bhilan village. They are illiterate and are unaware of the term “engineer”. It took a lot for this eighteen years old Bheel boy to achieve what he has.

Lekraj’s proud father said he could not even imagine that his son can be a graduate. Mangilal (Lekhraj’s father) also added that being Lekhraj’s dad makes him feel on the top of the world as he will be the first engineer in their local village. Sardari Bai his wife also expressed how proud and happy she is for the teenage boy’s success. She also said that their son will be able to improve the family’s economic condition in the near future. Lekhraj also expressed his gratitude towards his parents and said that they worked really hard to feed the family.

He also thanked his school principal Jasraj Gujjar and the director of his institute in Kota. Mr Jasraj played a vital role in Lekhraj’s success story. He was the one to take Lekhraj to Kota and meet Naveen Maheswari, who in turn gave him free admission, food and accommodation. For the next two years, Lekhraj stayed in Kota and completed his +2 and simultaneously took training for the joint entrance examination.

Mr Jasraj said that Lekhraj topped class Xth board examination in the entire Jhalawar district by scoring 93.83% in the final examination. He was a dedicated student from the very beginning of student life. Lekhraj had to walk for 6 km every day to reach his school. It was tough for him to join the coaching in Kota as well because of his Hindi medium background. But, with the help of teachers he improved and ultimately could achieve the unthinkable.
