Mumbai University Result Update: Mark Sheets to be Issued by September 19

  • In the latest update, Mumbai University has claimed that it will declare all the pending results by 19th September and issue mark sheets of students simultaneously.
  • HC directs CET Cell to extend application form submission to 22nd September 2017.

Informing the High Court of Bombay on the delay in the declaration of final year results of multiple courses, the Mumbai University has assured and clarified that it would declare all the results and issue mark sheets by September 19, 2017.

A week back, the due date that was informed by the varsity was September 6, 2017. Yet again, it failed to produce the results by then thereby missing another deadline. The counsel representing the varsity revealed that the process of on screen evaluation is almost done and the authorities are taking steps to announce the results by September 19, 2017. The assessment and evaluation process for 464 exams out of 477 has been completed. The varsity further indicated to that there will a further delay in the declaration of results of courses under the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL), Mumbai University.

Giving reasons for the delay, the counsel of MU pointed that due to the continuous holidays because of Ganesh Chaturthi and Bakri-Eid, teachers were unavailable. Technical glitches in the process was also one of the reasons for the same.

Banking and Insurance exam results are likely to be declared today on 7th September 2017. The pending results of Commerce, Finance and Accounts will be announced on September 13, 2017.

Bombay High Court has directed the Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell to extend the deadline for submitting online forms for three-year law courses to September 22, 2017, as it would be beneficial for students who made it to the LAWCET 2017 merit list.

The University of Mumbai also announced M.A Sociology results of the students who enrolled at Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL) of Mumbai University. However, students were not satisfied with the results as 60% of them failed. Out of 600 students who appeared for M.A Sociology Part I exam in April 2017, 350 students scored below 40 marks in at least one of the four subjects. Many students have even scored zero marks in one of the four subjects. Students approached the helpdesk of the varsity to raise the issue claiming that they had done well in the exams.

Responding to the issue, the officials of the varsity indicated that students who were marked absent or scored zero marks have to wait for at least another 15 days. According to an official, the answer sheets of these students may not have been assessed or could be untraceable. Apart from that, students who scored below 40 marks can apply for re-evaluation by paying a fee of Rs. 250 per paper.
