New Campus of Indian Aviation Academy (IAA) Inaugurated
- The new IAA campus is spread over 8 acres and has 12 training halls of different capacities.
- Training, research and consultancy services with respect to the aviation sector demands will be addressed through the Indian Aviation Academy.
Civil Aviation Minister, Mr. Ashok Gajapathi Raju inaugurated the new campus of Indian Aviation Academy (IAA) in New Delhi on September 21, 2017, which will be able to supplement its training and hostel capabilities to more than double.
While addressing the gathering and the media, Mr. Gajapathi Raju revealed that Indian Aviation Academy will play a vital role in meeting the demand for skilled workforce in the aviation sector. The objective of the premier aviation academy is to provide training, resources and infrastructure to take up research along with scope for consultancy services in different areas of aviation sector with respect to security, safety regulations, airports and aviation management, he added.

The new campus of Indian Aviation Academy is spread over an area of about 8 acres. The campus is equipped with 12 training halls of different capacities, library, video conference hall, an auditorium with seating capacity of 200, meeting rooms and two computer-based training facilities. The hostel of IAA can accommodate 100 trainees. They are equipped with varied sports facilities, recreation facilities, two gymnasiums and an open-air theatre.
IAA runs training programme in the following areas: -
- Security Training through BCAS
- Regulatory Training through DGCA
- Environment Concerns in Aviation
- Air Cargo Management
- Airport Engineering and Management
- Airport Operations and Aviation Safety

The premier aviation academy, i.e., IAA offers internationally recognised aviation accredited programmes to students/ participants across the world in collaboration with ACI, IATA and ICAO. The aviation academy has also obtained complete membership of ICAO Train Air plus Programme.
Aviation Secretary, Mr. Choubey indicated that the director of the academy and faculty will be required to regularly assess the workforce and needs of the aviation industry. The premier aviation academy will also play an important role in updating the syllabus with an objective to make the courses relevant.
