The apex court of India, i.e., Supreme Court announced that it would hold a further hearing for a plea on NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test that was filed by Student Islamic Organisation (SIO). The SIO sought the Supreme Court's help to include Urdu as one of the mediums of paper for NEET for the year 2017. The petition was heard on March 24, 2017, i.e., Friday.

Ravindra Garia, who is the lawyer for this case, explained the bench that the matter has been stretched and prolonged for a while now. He added that the SIO is hopeful that the decision regarding this will be taken as early as possible. He pointed that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had filed the petition in advance on the same. Therefore, the final decision is pending and SIO is expecting an early approval.
