Osmania University Backs Out of Hosting 105th Indian Science Congress

Unexpectedly, the officials of Osmania University have expressed inability to host 105^thIndian Science Congress (ISC) which is scheduled to begin from January 3, 2018. Citing the reasons to Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), the officials clarified that the uncertainty prevailing on the campus is the major reason for not hosting 105^thISC. Indian Science Congress has been postponed for the first time in the last 100 years, informed an official of ISCA.

ISCA has published an official notice on its website regarding the postponement of 105^thISC. The officials were shocked by the decision of Osmania University as the university was working hard to make 105^thISC a grand success. For the last three months, several committees at Osmania University constituted for the purpose of 105^thISC have been working hard for the smooth conduct of ISC. All of a sudden, the officials of the varsity expressed their inability to host 105^thISC.

The varsity also indicated that it was willing to host the inaugural ceremony outside the campus and remaining sessions in the campus. The varsity was also ready to incur additional expenditure for this purpose. For the smooth conduct of 105^thISC, the officials of Osmania University postponed the end semester exams of PG courses.

The varsity has been surrounded by protests for the past few days. Non-teaching staff have been protesting to get their demands fulfilled and student unions are protesting against the suicide of a PG student recently. The authorities of varsity have submitted a detailed report on the conditions prevailing on the campus to ISCA.

Osmania University is hoping to host 105^thISC in the near future, and it will be decided after holding a discussion with ISCA.
