Around 300 students from the tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh have cleared competitive exams like JEE, AIIMS, NEET and AIPMT. The credit also goes to the initiatives taken up by the government. A Public Relations Officer said that the students who are pursuing studies in government schools are crossing the barriers of financial crunch. A total number of 323 students have cleared the exams.

Students belonging to Jhabua, Chhindwara, Dhar and Mandla districts have cleared examination in distinction. Out of 323 students, three students are from Baiga tribe. The students of this tribe have cleared the NEET exam. These students belong to labour class family. The success of these students reveals that the “light of education” is spreading in backward areas too.

The government has taken various initiatives for the development of literacy in tribal areas. Various schemes like Akansha project in Dindori, Navratna and Gyanarjan in Mandla district, Prayas in Anuppur and project step in Jhabua. Over 85 students from Mandal district have cleared JEE and NEET examination. Among them, one of the students has secured admission in IIT Kharagpur.

The success of these students is an inspiration to the students who are pursuing studies in rural and tribal areas. The government has to come up with more initiatives for the upliftment of these students.
