NEET UG 2022 Postponement: As students demand #JUSTICEforNEETUG through a trend on Twitter, appealing for the postponement of the NEET UG examination scheduled on July 17, 2022, the India Wide Parents Association has come out in support of the students. The association has written to PM Shri Narendra Modi on June 20 to defer the upcoming NEET UG by at least 40 to 45 days.

The appeal has been made by an activist lawyer, Anubha Sahai, in the stead of the India Wide Parents Association, who earlier had strongly supported the postponement of the examination saying, ‘NEET UG 2022 must be postponed’. The letter to the PM of India articulated the difficulties faced by the students and requested him to intervene and postpone the exam in the interest of lakhs of students.

The reasons to postpone NEET UG 2022 have been detailed here: Why NEET UG 2022 Should be Postponed?

The letter written is as follows:

So far, #JusticeforNEETUG has crossed over 1.5M tweets but is yet to receive an official response from NTA, its conducting authority. Earlier, for the same purpose, trends like #NTAdeferNEETUG and #MODIJIdeferNEETUG had also gained momentum but met a futile end. Similar was the case with NEET PG examination.

However, as per the recent reports, NTA made a statement that they have received requests to delay NEET UG 2022 but also confirmed, while replying to a query under the Right to Information (RTI) Act, that no changes have yet been made in the schedule. Read more.

From the observations made in similar scenarios during NEET PG, it is advised that the candidates continue their preparation as the chances of postponement stand low. Many students after giving NEET PG complained that the postponement fiasco took away their much-needed preparation time. The competition is high this year as, for the first time, NEET UG registrations crossed 18 lakh. So considering all this, candidates must not allow anything to slag their preparation.
