Addressing the students at the convocation ceremony of a private university, Minister of Human Resource and Development, Prakash Javadekar urged the students to be the ‘agents of change’. The development of the nation depends on the contribution made by the youth, he added. He awarded degrees to the graduating students and wished them a bright future.

He also said that the government will take all the essential steps to set up world class institutes to reverse brain drain for which the government is planning to spend Rs. 20,000 crore. The objective of the initiative will be to improve the educational standards in the country so that the students are encouraged to take up higher education in their native country instead of flocking abroad for better facilities.

Javadekar further pointed that the central government is aiming to make these 20 world class institutes feature in the list of top 200 universities or institutes across the globe. The plan will encourage students to take up research for which they will be awarded incentives in the form of a Rs. 75,000 scholarship per month to the top 1,000 meritorious students, he added.

HRD Minister also motivated the students to become good human beings apart from gaining knowledge and skills. He appreciated the efforts of honourable Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi in improving the standard of education in the country through the ‘New India’ campaign.
