Focus on Academics and Develop a Sense of Social Obligation: Prakash Javadekar

In a written statement, Union Minister of Human Resource and Development, Prakash Javadekar urged the students, who have joined various government-run higher learning institutes across the country to develop a sense of social obligation towards people, specifically poor who have been playing a vital role in subsiding their education by paying taxes. He further advised the students to focus on academics and realise responsibilities.

The new academic session in various higher learning institutes some of which are funded by the central government started in July-August 2017. The tuition fee is highly subsidised in these educational institutes.

Javadekar further urged the students to remember those people who contributed to their education. Students must work towards the well-being of the society when they come out of the institution. On the other hand, students need to focus on the work that is being done inside the campus, as it would be the deciding fate of this country in many ways.

According to Javadekar, higher learning institutes must play a vital role in creating knowledge and disseminate to the larger society. Earlier, it was possible to build the civilisations over knowledge gained from higher education. Therefore, students must think that the higher education arena is an important aspect of the life of students, and it would determine the course of India in the years to come, he explained.
