President Pranab Mukherjee Expresses Concern over Quality of B-Schools
The business schools must play a significant role in setting up 10,000 start-up firms in the next few years.
President Pranab Mukherjee has expressed his concern over the quality and education standards of institutes in India and indicated that it is the responsibility of the business schools to impart ‘right skills’ to students and make them employable. He cautioned that the business schools have to provide a conducive environment for learning. Nowadays a high number of management institutes have been coming up, and these institutes do not have proper standards. There is a need to impart proper skills to youth and make them capable of finding jobs. It must always be noted that ideal young minds will not resort to violence.

There are several polytechs and universities in India, but the quality of many institutes are not up to the standard with respect to competing in getting jobs. There is a need to train the young population to meet the demands of the job market. The country is blessed with demographic advantage, and it will add 60 crore youth by 2030.
He concluded that if the institutes fail to impart proper skills, it will lead to demographic disaster and the restless youth would resort to criminal activities which deteriorate the integrity of the country. He advised the business schools to come up with innovative ways and create a conducive environment for education.
