On February 19, 2022, after a long wait, the National Test Agency finally declared the UGC NET 2021 result on the official website. The exam of UGC NET was conducted for 18 days in 35 distinct shifts between November 20, 2021, to January 5, 2022. This was a merged cycle of UGC NET December 2022 and June 2021 exam as the June cycle was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 12 lakhs candidates registered for this exam out of which 6,71,288 appeared and 52,857 qualified for JRF and assistant professor.

As per the University Grants Commission(UGC) policy, only 6% of those candidates who appear in both the papers and obtain the minimum qualifying marks in total of both the papers are declared as NET qualified.
