St. Stephen's College, a leading institute affiliated to the Delhi University, will not conduct written test for admissions this year. The decision to do away with the written test is being taken while keeping the safety and comfort of students in mind during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The admission process of St. Stephen's College was scheduled to start on 30 June 2020. However, the admission process has been delayed and now it will begin from July 7 and will end on July 18, 2020. As per the information available on the website of the college, the 2020 admission process of St Stephen's college will be completely online.

As a minority college, St. Stephen's College conducts its own admission process. 50% out of the 450 seats in the 11 undergraduate courses offered by the college are reserved for Christian candidates. Usually, the college gives 15% weightage to written test + interview while the remaining is as per Class 12th marks. However, this will be different this year. During the online interview, the students will be assessed on “academic” and “co-curricular” aspects, along with “general awareness and sense of values”. Those who will be selected for the interview will have to keep their call letters, date of birth certificates as well as class 12 mark sheets, as well as their quota specific certificates handy.

Decision to Scrap Written Test Taken on June 30

Bishop Warris Masih, the Chairperson of the Governing Body of St. Stephen's College, has told a leading publication that the decision of cancelling the written test was taken by the governing body on 30 June 2020.

The college will also not be conducting trials for sports quota admissions at St. Stephen's University. The decision has been taken since the college does not find it possible to call students to the campus for the written test.
