Steel Tycoon – Lakshmi Mittal Donates $25 Million to Harvard University

Popular steel tycoon, Lakshmi Mittal has donated $25 million to Harvard University with an objective to increase engagement with South Asian countries (including India). The donation will play a crucial role in establishing an endowment fund for the South Asian Institute at Harvard University. The premier university’s engagement with South Asian countries includes the following nations: -

Following the donation, the Harvard’s South Asia Institute will now be called as ‘Lakshmi Mittal South Asia Institute at Harvard University’. The institute was founded in the year 2003. It became a University-wide interdisciplinary institute in 2010. The endowment fund will enable the varsity to learn and share across humanities, social sciences and sciences. Collaboration with many people and institutes will allow the varsity to engage.
