Students to Benefit from DU’s Free Classes for PG Entrance Exams

In an attempt to give a fair start to students belonging to economically backward communities and weaker sections of the society, Delhi University (DU) has initiated free classes that will enable students to prepare for various postgraduate entrance examinations.

The university informed that this is not the first time that DU is sponsoring free preparatory classes for aspirants. This year in May and June a new initiative – DU Pre-Entrance Summer School-2016 – was organized where free classes were offered to students who were preparing for PG Entrance Examinations in the disciplines such as Law, Commerce and Biomedical Science.

DU is also planning to start a crash course for UGC-CSIR JRF/NET that will help students prepare for the exam. The crash course will possibly be organized in December 2016 for Life Science & Chemical Science whereas Law and Commerce classes will be held around January 2017.

According to the university press release, the aim of conducting these classes is to motivate the students belonging to backward and economically weaker sections of the society as they cannot afford the fee structure of private institutes.

Recently, DU also decided to share its resources such as teachers, laboratories and libraries with Jamia Millia Islamia University for maximum utilization. Yogesh Tyagi, Vice Chancellor, Delhi University said that teachers exchange programme will also provide the students a broader perspective on various subjects. The university aims to excel in the field of education and promote research in various domains.
