The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) has decided to put two of its courses of B.Tech (Bachelor of Technology) on suspension for a year. The courses of Bioinformatics and Agri Information Technology are put in abeyance for a year in order to revamp the courses so that they are more employable and have an increased scope of helping graduates to take up courses of post-graduation later.

M Kalyanasundaram, the Dean of Agriculture, said that post a discussion in the academic council of the university, committees had been set up for assessing the courses. After conducting a thorough assessment, all the committees concluded in a report that the courses and programmes have to be modified so that they suit the current trends.
