Tamil Nadu Govt. Taking Initiatives to get Exemption from NEET

Tamil Nadu Governmentis trying to free medical aspirants fromNational Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET). K A Sengottaiyan, the Education Minister of Tamil Nadu said that continuous efforts are being made in this regard. He also added that the policy of state government is to immune students fromNEETand request the Central Government to exemptTamil Nadu medical aspirantsfrom appearing in NEET. The urge for the exemption will continue until the removal of compulsion of appearing in NEET is accepted by theCentral Government.

NEET is a mandatory exam that students will have to clear if they wish to study medicine in their graduation or post-graduation degree. Arrangements of training centres for students are being set up by the state government to provide them free training to clear NEET.

About 412NEET training centresare to be started by the Government of Tamil Nadu for approx 78,000 medical aspirants, added K A Sengottaiyan. Specialcoachingwill be provided to best 2,000 students at these coaching centres. These students will be selected on the basis of their performance in the classes of these NEET training centres.

NEET is a tough examination to clear. It has been made compulsory for students who want to pursueMBBS, BDS, MS and MDoffered by private or government-owned institutions in India. The procedure includes getting enrolled by filling NEET application form through the official website and then appearing for the exam. The minimum age for NEET should be 17 years if they are aspire for MBBS or BDS.
